The instrument can be calibrated for metric or imperial units and has a nautical mile scale for use on marine charts. Simply roll the tip along your chosen route and the distance covered will be displayed on the screen. Roll it backwards and the distance is subtracted from the total. The scale can be adjusted for any map and the device can calculate the time required to travel the measured distance at a given speed. The display has a backlight for night use and a tiny torch to illuminate the map at night without disturbing the driver`s night vision.
